Happy Saturday Everyone...
I hope you all had a wonderful week and that you are finding time now to enjoy the weekend and hopefully some beautiful spring weather where you are. We've had some very nice days of weather this past week for the most part, but on Friday we received some much needed rain. The weekend sounds like it will be dry but somewhat on the cool side with temperatures in the mid sixties.
I wanted to say a big Thank You to all of you sweet ladies who left me such kind comments wishing me a Happy Belated Birthday. Your good wishes mean the world to me as does your friendship.
Not to leave you without some eye candy during your visit, I must share with you a few pictures of a gorgeous little china pitcher that I found several weeks ago during one of my antiquing jaunts. This pink beauty with the lovely roses was just sitting quietly there on the shelf patiently waiting for me to find it and bring it home with me.
That sweet little boy in the picture next to my lovely new rose pitcher is my handsome nephew Hunter (his picture was taken a little over a year ago and he is now a much bigger "5" year old)
It has no stamp on the bottom, but I'm guessing that it was either made in Germany or Bavaria as those countries seem to have manufactured some of the prettiest china pieces I have found in the past.
I could sit for hours just admiring my display of rose patterned china and other pretties. I wonder what I would ever do if a fire, tornado or some other natural disaster were to destroy my home someday. I honestly think it would send me into a deep depression if I were to lose all of the wonderful and irreplaceable things I have collected in my lifetime.
Am I the only one who thinks like this and feels this way about impersonal things that are just objects and really have no meaning in the bigger scope of life, or am I crazy? I know people lose things all of the time in natural disasters all over the world and life does go on for them, but it's so hard to imagine anything like that happening to me. Do any of you feel the same way that I do? I would love to know what your thoughts are.
Enough of my rambling thoughts for today. Take care my sweet friends and have a lovely weekend. And for all of you mother's out there, I wish you a very Happy Mothers Day!!

I think everyone thinks about it. Hubby and I talk about it once in awhile. I would be devastated to lose my family photos. As for furniture I have a couple of pieces that belonged to my Grandmother and it would be sad if anything happened to them. But disasters and such happen to people all the time and I'm sure they are just thankful to be alive...thats when we realize they are just 'things'!
hi Kim, Happy Saturday! I really like your small pitcher.. so beautiful.. now where can I get one just like yours! hehehehehe..
like you, at times, I was thinking the same.. what would happen to all these items that I collected all my life.. coz my intention is to pass all these collections to my children so that they one day would appreciate it..
I will feel sooooo devasted to know that if I would loose all these due to the natural/nature disaster.. *sigh*
after all, i guess it is things..
have a great weekend!

Hi Kim....
I am up and back on my feet a little more each day. This was one hard cold to get over!!
She IS a beauty....I cant wait to start filling MY house (that sounds so nice!) with pretties, and to show you all my progress one room at a time :-)
Thank you for your sweet comments. I am super excited and feel lucky to have such wonderful blogland friends to share in this joyous occasion with me!
See you again real soon....

Happy Saturday Kim,
I think you are right about the pitcher being made in Germany or Bavaria. I see so many beautiful china works of art from those countries. If you stop over at my blog, I have posted a pitcher that I found last weekend in our travels.
Your rose patterned collection is so lovely. I think the painted rose just draws me into its beauty and delicacy. Thanks for sharing today :-) Have a great weekend.

Oh I don't want to think about that, so sad! I guess for me it would be the worry of what's outside! If the creatures were spared and the rose bushes and gardens and trees.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Hi Kim, I love your little pitcher, so pretty. I think it is always hard on people to have things taken away without any warning by any means. I do believe you just gather strength from friends, family, and community and sometimes it tends to clear us a path to draw closer to God if we choose to.

I love that pitcher! It is absolutely gorgeous!!! Your birthday goodies are very nice too!!
Blessings~
LOVE LOVE LOVE your new pitcher....I would have bought it too....
Hugs,
Mo ;-)
Oooooooh! She is definitely a beauty!
As much as I would hate to lose any of my pretty things that I love, I worry most about our family scrapbooks and family heirlooms.
Perfect colors in the pitcher, Kim! When we went antiquing last week, I looked and looked for a piece of China that I couldn't do without but I didn't find any I liked well enough! Maybe next time...
As far as "things" go, I'm the odd ball who has kept so few possesions. We've lived somewhat of a missionary life style but that's what we've been called too. I just know that if you ever have to give up your collections or if you loose them, the grace of God will be there for you. ♥
Just looooove your new pitcher..The roses on it are just soooo beautiful...
