Please Forgive Me......

I've been in a bit of a blogging rut lately and really haven't had much to share, so it's been a while since my last post. Just wanted to say that I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I was starting to feel a bit guilty about that so I figured I'd better pop in and say Hello and let you all know that I'm still around.

What have I been doing besides not blogging? Well, not a whole lot to be honest. Just hanging out at home for the most part and spending way more time than I should be looking at this view...

This is the view I see when I'm just lounging around on my sofa watching mindless television.

This last picture is a better view of the full living room with the sunlight shining brightly in the windows. My big picture window faces East so I get all of the morning sun, plus, in the afternoon when the sun is reflecting off of the house across a common driveway I share with another four unit townhouse just like me, that reflected sunlight will brighten this room in the late afternoon and early evening hours as well, especially during the summer months. You might even be able to enlarge this picture, I'm not sure. It's one I shared many, many months ago when I first started blogging so some things have changed a bit, but you'll have a really good idea of how the room looks in general.

I love spending time in my living room surrounded by all my pretty things. However, sometimes when I look real hard, I begin to wonder if it's all just a bit too much and if I should de-clutter just a bit, but that thought never lasts too long. Maybe it's too much for some people, but it's just perfect for me. Good thing I live alone and don't have to consider the opinions of others

I'm actually going to head back upstairs now, so I'll say goodbye for now. I'll try not to say away too long next time.

Enjoy the rest of your day and the rest of the week ahead. It's almost the weekend so hang tight.

I Couldn't Resist.......

Well girls, it was inevitable and while I keep telling myself I don't really need anymore, I just couldn't resist adding these adorable new finds to my collections.

Who besides me could resist adding another cute baby planter to her collection when you stumble across one like this at a bargain price of just $4.95? I knew for sure if I had left it behind I would have regretted it, especially knowing that with the price as low as it was, some other collector would snatch it up pretty quickly.

The blue color is so pretty and when you add some pink and yellow to the mix and a little bit of green as well, it makes for such a lovely combination of colors and is so cheerful to look at. And how cute are the Mommy and Daddy ducks with their little baby ducklings? Totally adorable !!!

And with blue apparently being my color choice of the day, when I saw this pretty little china lady figurine standing on the shelf, I just about squealed as she is so lovely. Not as bold of a blue as that of the baby planter, but just a hint of the perfect shade of blue in the ruffled hem of her dress and in the flowers in her basket.

I can even pretend she is the lady with the baby pram out for a stroll on a beautiful, sunny spring day.

I hope you are enjoying this spring day yourself and that you are all having a good week so far.
See you soon !!!

Spring Pretties.....

Hi Girls..

Happy Friday to you all. I hope you have all been enjoying a good week this week. The week has flown by for me. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were busy with work as usual, but I managed to schedule in a few vacation days this week as well.

Thursday, which was the first of my vacation days turned out to be pretty much a DUD thanks to Comcast and their lovely 5 hour time frames they schedule your service call for. I had scheduled a service call for them to come out and install an additional cable outlet in my family room and I was schedule for sometime between 8am and 1pm and was stuck at home all day waiting for the cable guy to show up. I had been hoping and praying all week that I'd be one of the lucky ones and they'd show up at 8am, or shortly thereafter so I'd have the rest of the day to do something fun. Well luck was definitely not on my side this week and the cable guy didn't show up until 12:50pm. By the time he finished the job, it was close to 2:30 and the day was pretty much a waste. Not exactly how I would have liked to spend my day, that's for sure.

So to make up for yesterday, today I took a short trip to the lovely town of Stillwater Minnesota for some antiquing and I managed to find a couple of really cute things and at very decent prices as well.

First up is this cute little cream colored china basket with a lovely weave pattern...

And what you see tucked inside the basket in the photo above is a pretty handkerchief with a a pretty floral pattern and pale pink border......

And I found something else which I fell in love with and which I believe is going to turn into another new collection for me and that is this pair of vintage clip-on earrings in the palest shades of pink and cream. As you can see from the tag, they were just $2.00 for the pair...

An idea I have seen over and over again for displaying vintage earrings like these is turning them into magnets and displaying them on vintage metal trays. Such a cute idea and so simple. All you need to do is very carefully break off the clips and glue on a small magnet with a hot glue gun. I hope to someday have a tray filled with pretty earrings like this. It will look great hanging on the wall and will be something that can be added to over time as new earrings are found.

I'm loving my little haul of spring goodies I found today in Stillwater.....

What treasures have you found lately?
