Christmas Goodies....

Hi Girls,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  It's hard to believe that it's over again for another year.

I myself had a wonderful Christmas with my family.  When it came to exchanging gifts, I couldn't really think of anything practical that I needed to put on my Christmas list, so I just told my family to either buy me crafting related items or to just get me gift cards to my local scrapbook and craft stores and I could pick out things for myself.

Well, they kindly obliged with the gift cards, so today I went and picked out a bunch of goodies to buy with my gift cards from Michael's and Achievers scrapbook store.

First up are the goodies I bought at Michael's using a gift card I received from one of my sisters...

And this next batch of goodies are the item's I picked out at Achievers scrapbook store using the gift card I received from my Mom ..

My Mom also bought me a Tim Holtz Cling Mount stamp set and four bottles of Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist that I had been wanting.  Those were wrapped and under the tree on Christmas Eve.  As you can see in the picture above, I added two more bottles of the Glimmer Mist to the ones my Mom had already gotten me.

Lots of fun goodies to play with and keep me busy during the long, cold and snowy winter months ahead.

Happy crafting !!!!

See you soon..

Good Bargains......

Hi Girls...

Hope all is going well with you and that you're all ready for Christmas.  Hard to believe that just a week from today, all the excitement and business of Christmas will all be over again until next year.

I finally have all my shopping done, so I'm ready to go.  As is my usual habit around the Christmas holidays, I seemed to splurge a bit on things for myself too as I was out and about doing my Christmas shopping.  However, a few of the things I've purchased I received for a great price.

In addition to some of the other crafting goodies I had recently purchased and shared with you earlier this month, I realized I missed a few.

These were more Black Friday weekend sale items that I purchased at Michael's when they were having their awesome buy one, get one free sale.

A few more cling stamps to add to my ever growing collection....

And some paper mache' cones that I purchased for my first attempt in making an altered tussie mussie cone..

I must say, my first attempt didn't turn out too bad....

I have four more of the cones to alter, but that is going to wait for a bit as I've started working on another more time consuming crafty project that I'll give you a sneak peak at in my next post.

Until then... stay safe, stay warm and happy holidays!!!

My Box Of Scrappy Goodness.....

Hi Girls....

Would you like to see my box of scrappy goodness?

My scrappy goodness is stored in a pretty rose patterned decorative box..

Which when opened up reveals and eyeful of goodness...

It's fun to dig through the my stash to find different bits and pieces that will work well with the current project I am working on..

Most of the pieces were originally part of multi-packs, each of which held many different embellishment pieces. Sometimes, up to 40 small pieces like these two packs below have.

It makes me happy when I open the box and see all the fun stuff inside.

I purchase most of my scrappy embellishments when they are on sale at Joann's or Michael's for 30-40% off.  Lots of goodness for not very much money.

Do you have a stash of scrappy goodness like mine?

Shabbily Transformed......

Hi Girls....

I'm not sure if "Shabbily" is a word you'll find in the dictionary, but it's one I'm going to use in this post to describe how I transformed one of my more recent thrift store finds.

Early last month I showed you the "before" pictures of this plain, boring and kind of ugly recipe box I found at the Goodwill store for just a dollar.....

Well, after an hour or two of fussy cutting some scrapbook papers to the size and shapes I needed and doing some painting and modgepodging, that boring little recipe box now looks like this....

Side view.....

Couldn't leave the inside unfinished...

Or the backside...

Shabbily and quite easily transformed into another cute piece that will be used in my craft  room for display and storage.

And what have you all been doing to be creative ??

Crafting is even more fun when a person is able to use pretty things to embellish their projects with.

Here are just a few of the newer things I've added to my stash of pretty embellishments thanks to that extra overtime money I've been earning and some great Black Friday sales at Michael's where many of their embellishments were buy one, get one free, plus an extra 25% off with coupon...

Some hand dyed ribbons in yummy colors (ordered online from an Etsy shop) ...

Some pretty fabric flower (buy one get one free from Michael's on Black Friday) .....

And packs of decorative envelopes to add to my journals...

It's going to be fun using all these goodies...

An Awesome Goodwill Find....

Hi Girls...

I may have said this a time or two before, but I love the Goodwill store.

I visited one of my local Goodwill stores a few weeks ago and found three brand new, unused rolls of beautiful vinyl wallpaper for just $3.99 each that will be perfect to use in my craft projects.

The floral pattern and soft pastel colors are gorgeous...

I may even use one of the rolls to reline some of my dresser drawers.

So remember ladies, if you're a crafter and one of those Goodwill/thrift store shoppers like me, keep your eye's peeled for different things like this to incorporate into your craft projects.  You just never know what you may find.

I Can't Stop At Just One.....

Hi Girls...

I promised in my last post to share my latest project that I made using one of the new patterned scrapbook papers I had recently purchased.  If you recall from the post before that, I had shared with you a project I had done, making what some would call a "junk journal" of sorts.

It was just a small little book/journal I put together using chipboard for the front and back covers, scrapbook papers and other ephemera and embellishments.

Well, I couldn't stop with just that one, so I have made another one too.

And on this one, I added a Maya Road pre-cut chipboard  dress form to the cover of the journal.  I colored the dress form by spraying it with some Walnut Ink.

Here you can see the before and after of the dress form..

Just a few of the inside pages...

And I've had so much fun making these that I'll probably end up making several more.  Some to keep for myself and some to give away as Christmas gifts.

Well, that's all for today.  I'll be back again soon to share some of the crafting goodies I've been buying to keep myself busy over the long and cold winter months.

See you soon!!!

Gorgeous New Papers...

Hi Girls,

Well, I can't seem to stop my addiction to beautiful scrapbook papers and today, you'll see why.

When the beautiful papers also feed into your addiction to anything rosy, would you be able to say no to and pass up on buying these beautiful papers ?

These beautiful rosy patterned papers are from the new"Authentique" line of scrapbook papers called "Lovely".

I just about squealed in glee when I spotted these pretty papers amongst all of the Christmas papers in the store where I purchased them.

Here's a few close up shots to show the floral pattern in better detail...

This line also features some scripted style paper..

Another line of paper that I love is the My Minds Eye line and they also have some beautiful new papers that I found too.

I was already brave enough to cut into the first piece of the My Minds Eye paper and I'll show you what I've done with that in my next post.

Stay tuned...

Random Stuff And I Need Your Help.....

Hi Girls,

Just popping in with a quick post to show you the finished cover of my first "Junk Journal" that I shared in one of my previous posts.

In my previous post, the cover still looked like this...

But over the weekend I fancied it up a bit and now it looks like this....

And Deb , this next photo is just for you.  Here's proof that I've started to use some of the ephemera you gifted me with during our recent Minnesota bloggers gathering.  I added one of the vintage postcards in my journal as it fit the color theme just perfectly.... :)

Thanks again Deb for all the ephemera goodies...

And now for all of my blog visitors, I need your help with something that's been driving me nuts for awhile now.

For all you scrapbookers and scrapbook paper lovers like me, can anyone tell me what the name of this paper pattern is and who the manufacturer is???

Front side...

Back side....

I cut off the bar code when I first bought it so it would fit in my plastic scrapbook paper storage containers so now I can't identify the paper company this came from.

I love the paper and had only purchased two pieces of it and I haven't been able to find it again in any of my local scrapbook paper stores and I can't search online for it without knowing who makes it.

If any of you know, please leave me a comment.

Thanks so much!!!

See you soon..
