Do you enjoy transforming inexpensive thrift store finds into something more suitable to your taste? Well, I seem to have found a liking to it myself lately, so here I am today to show you my latest project. And yes, this is going to be another picture laden post.
The first item I transformed was this practical yet boring desk caddy/organizer made of a light colored wood that I found at my local Salvation Army Thrift Store for $4.00.
Pretty boring in appearance but I knew it had lots of possibilities. So after digging through my ever growing stash of pretty scrapbook papers I chose a couple of the patterned scrapbook papers that I knew would be the perfect choice to give it the look I wanted.
Once I chose the papers I wanted to use, I used some coordinating craft paint to paint the areas that wouldn't be covered by the paper. After the paint dried, I cut the papers to size and got out my big bottle of Modge Podge and a sponge brush and started gluing the papers in place.
And Voila... The end results...
Stay tuned to see how this gets transformed.
Until then, stay cool...
