My First Get Together With Fellow Bloggers..

Hi Girls...

Yesterday was such a fun day.  After several years of blogging, I finally had the chance to meet some of my fellow local bloggers in person at a small gathering hosted by Deb of Garage Sale Gal blog.

What a sweetheart she is.  Deb is just as nice and sweet as she appears on her blog.

It was a small gathering with just Deb, myself and two other local bloggers, Linda of Itsy Bits and Pieces and Tammy of Tammy's In Love.  It was nice to have a small group for my first time meeting local bloggers as it was easier to visit and get to know each other.

Deb made us a wonderful lunch with soup and salad and she gave us a tour of her wonderful home which is filled with all sorts of  beautiful antiques and collectibles and I got a chance to see up close and personal all of the wonderful goodies she has in her craft room/studio.  Wow, that room was packed full of the most fun stuff.  I could have spent hours in there just looking at all the great stuff she has dipslayed.  As our time together came to an end, Deb was kind enough to send each of us home with a few special little gifts

These are the sweet gifts Deb had waiting for us upon our departure.

A candy dish with some yummy chocolates...

Little packages of paper ephemera to use in our crafting projects...

Linda even brought each of us a little gift from her stash of wondeful vintage goodies.  Two little bundles of vintage french flash cards and some pretty fall colored seam binding...

And a fellow out-out-of state blogger even sent Deb some gorgeous fall themed cookies to share with her guests.

It was such a fun and special day and I look forward to spending more time with these wonderful ladies and getting to know them better.

And to close out this post, I am sharing a picture of the four of us that Deb's husband kindly took. He got the fun job of playing photographer for us as we posed in front of Tammy's awesome vintage Chevy car..  That's Tammy on the left, me (always the tallest one...), Linda and Deb on the right.

Thank you so much Deb for inviting us into your home and for your generous gifts. It was so great to finally get to meet you in person and I look forward to more get together's in the future.

Today's Project....

Hi Girls..

Happy Saturday!!

Just popping in with a quick post to show you a quick and easy little project I did today.

In my last post, I shared with you all of my finds from Junk Bonanza, one of which included these plastic Ziploc bags full of vintage trims.

Well, you know me..  I had to find a prettier and more creative way to keep them organized as those plastic bags just wouldn't do, so I took two of my chipboard album pages from the dollar bins at Michael's, covered them in some pretty scrapbook paper and now the trims are being organized like this...

I ran out of room for the trims on these two, so I need to make one or two more.  They will all be displayed prettily in a basket when I'm done.

What creative things have you done today?

My Vintage Shabby Haul From Junk Bonanza 2012

Hi Girls..

Would you like to see the goodies I found today at the annual Junk Bonanza event in Shakopee Minnesota?   This event is an antique/artisan event with lots of goodies to be found.  I even planned some of my vacation days around it to make sure I wouldn't miss it.

It was super crowded today.  Much worse than in the previous two years that I've gone.  Despite the huge crowd and cramped aisles and booths, I still managed to return home with quite a haul of goodies.

Shall we take a look?   One of my favorite finds has to be this super cute and shabby altered letter "K" that is decoupaged with scraps of vintage wallpaper.  There was no way I could pass this up.  It is totally the kind of stuff I love.

Pretty trims on vintage thread spools.  These are very similar to ones I bought last year in the same booth.  The dealer even remembered me.  How funny is that ???  I guess I must have spent a lot of time in her booth that day. These I will just display as is in my craft room as they are too pretty to use.

I bought two different necklaces today.  One a pretty soldered charm necklace...

And one a key necklace with my initial.  Which goes perfectly with the outfit I am wearing today. Hence the reason for the headless picture of me..  LOL.

And some very pretty vintage light weight keys that I plan on turning into some charm necklaces...

Bingo cards, vintage scrabble tiles (my latest obsession) and a vintage button card with pretty lavender colored buttons..

Bags of pretty lace trims to use in my craft projects..

And some cute word cards that I can use in my craft projects as well..

I'm quite pleased with today's haul and I hope you enjoyed seeing it too..

Until next time...

More Journal Pages...

Hi Girls..

I've been having so much fun working on my altered journal.  This has been such an enjoyable project and while it may seem like I've been working on it forever, I knew this was a project that couldn't be completed in just a day or two.  And it's still not done yet, but I still wanted to share with you a few more of the finished pages.

But first, let's not forget what it looked like when I first started...

Just a plain, vintage journal/ledger book that I purchased at an antique store.

Which had a few of the pages altered into these using some pretty scrapbook papers...

And finally into these by adding some additional vintage images and pretty embellishments....

I still have quite a few of the pages left to go, but I'm in no hurry.  I'm just taking my time to make sure I get all the pages "just right".

Happy scrapping !!

A Quiet Sunday Afternoon....

Spending a quiet Sunday afternoon in my craft room rearranging pretties...

And adding additional elements to my altered journal...

I hope you're all enjoying the long holiday weekend and finding some creative and relaxing things to do too.

See you soon!!
