Teacup Tuesday - Week 15

Hello Ladies and Happy "Teacup Tuesday" to all of you.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and an early start to your week. My weekend was nice and relaxing after doing a little overtime work from home early Saturday morning. The weather here in Minnesota wasn't the greatest though between the rain on Saturday and what felt like hurricane force winds on Sunday, so instead of spending time outside like I was hoping to, most of the time was spent in the house cleaning, organizing and working on my Decorating Scrapbooks which I haven't done in quite some time.

If you are a newer visitor to my blog and you are wondering what my "Decorating Scrapbooks" are, click here to read one of my older posts from last year where I shared about how I turn stacks of decorating magazines into personalized Decorating Scrapbooks just for me.

Now, on to the purpose of today's post....This weeks offering for Teacup Tuesday is a lovely Regency English Bone China teacup that I found in a wonderful Antique & Gift shop located just across the border from Minnesota in the charming town of Osceola Wisconsin. Osceola sits along the St. Croix River which divides the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Osceola is less than an hours drive from my house, so I try and get there a few times a year. I discovered this shop about 3 years ago after finding their business card displayed in an antique store I frequently visit in Stillwater Minnesota. As I'm always on the hunt for new antique shops to visit, I knew it was definitely worth checking out and boy was I ever glad that I did, because the gift shop part of the store has a wonderful selection of gorgeous teapots and teacups and I knew right away that I would love visiting this shop over and over again.

While I do have matching teapots for several of my teacups, sadly, I don't have one for this teacup, although the funny things is, my younger sister does. My sister had found a teapot with this same floral pattern years ago either at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I wonder if she would ever be willing to give me her teapot so that I will have matching set. Maybe someday she will give it to me as a surprise gift.

As always, thanks for stopping by for a visit. Please continue with your Teacup Tuesday journey and pay a visit to these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing for Teacup Tuesday this week. They would love to have you stop by for a visit.

Have a great week and come back again next week to see what Teacup I will be sharing next time....

My Crazy Obsession With Tea Things....

Hello Ladies....

Happy Thursday to all of you. I hope you have all been having a good week so far. My week has been pretty good, although I am still extremely busy at work which makes the days fly by. Maybe that's a good thing though, as it makes the weekends come faster....LOL

Thanks to Katie @ Rose Breeze Boutique, this week you are getting a little something extra when it comes to my crazy obsession for Teacups and all things related to Tea. Katie has been one of my regular "Teacup Tuesday" participants and her post this week featured a darling little magnet that she had made with a small piece of needlepoint in a Teapot design. After seeing Katie's post with her cute magnet, I thought it would be fun to share with all of you some of my refrigerator magnets that just like Katie's, have a Tea theme. While I don't show a picture of my actual fridge, I can tell you that the freezer door is covered with all kinds of magnets. These are just the ones related to Tea (the first one is my favorite....)

That's all for today..... Hope you enjoyed another glimpse into my crazy obsession of things related to Tea..

What is your crazy obsession???????

Teacup Tuesday - Week 14

Hello my friends and welcome to another addition of "Teacup Tuesday".

This week, I have something a little different to share. Prepare yourself!!!

It's the one and only teacup in my collection that surprisingly is quite simple with no floral design. Yep, you heard right. I actually have a teacup that has no design or florals on it....

Despite there being no floral pattern on this teacup which is usually one of the things I am first drawn to, this charming teacup drew my attention mostly because of it's creamy soft yellow color. I love this shade of yellow and am always on the lookout for vintage style items in this color to add to my yellow collection. This teacup fits in perfectly with my collection.

I like the fact that having a solid color teacup lets me mix & match it very easily with my other china pieces. As you can see here, I chose to display it layered on a blue and rose floral desert plate and against a backdrop of a small china tray in the same pattern as the desert plate. The desert plate and china tray also have touches of yellow in the floral pattern and displaying them with the solid yellow teacup allows the yellow in the floral pattern to pop and be more noticeable.

I hope you enjoyed seeing something a little different from me today. Now, please take the time to visit these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing for this weeks "Teacup Tuesday".

Enjoying Fun Times With My Family.....

I just love this time of year....

The weather is finally starting to get really nice and I've been able to enjoy a few evenings a week outside at the local ball parks watching my almost "8" year old niece McKenzie play softball. She's doing AWESOME this year with both her batting and with playing in the outfield.

It's amazing how much she has improved over the past 3 years. The first year she started in T-Ball, the next year it was advanced T-Ball and this year it's softball with the coaches doing the pitching. She and the other girls on her team are getting really good at slugging that ball.

While McKenzie is playing softball, her younger brother and sister (the twins Hunter & Kylee) enjoy hanging out with the rest of us watching her play. The "twinkies" as I call them played T-Ball last year, but I don't think they really enjoyed it and they were not interested in playing again this year. Maybe by next year they will change their minds and want to play again. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I have to say that these three youngsters are my most favorite people in the world and it's such a joy to be able to spend as much time with them as I get to and to be able to watch them grow up. I just wish it wouldn't happen so fast... LOL.

Enjoy the rest of your week and I'll be back again soon.

Teacup Tuesday - Week 13

Hello my sweet friends....

It's time once again for another "Teacup Tuesday" where I continue sharing photos of the many teacups that I have collected over the past 20 years or so.

This week, I am sharing a lovely "Rosina" teacup that is covered in a beautiful and delicate rose pattern. This teacup has a somewhat different shape than the others in my collection and because of that, I find it to be even more special.

Besides the teacup itself, you are also getting a sneak peak once again at some of my vintage crocheted doilies and potholders. The colors of them are perfectly suited to most of my teacups. I use them while taking my pictures to bring out certain colors in the floral patterns of the teacup. This time, I used both a larger pink doily and a blue & cream potholder. The blue potholder lets the blue in the floral pattern of the teacup "pop" and stand out a little more.

One of my visitors last week mentioned that she would like to see how I display all of my teacups. As much as I would love to be able to show her, it's almost impossible to do that as my collection of teacups is not all in one location. They are scattered between a small china hutch in my dining room, several cupboards in my kitchen, a larger china hutch in my family room downstairs, and as much as I hate to say this, a few are even tucked into a drawer for storage as I just don't have anymore room to display them all at once.

Now that you've stopped by here for a visit, please continue on with your Teacup Tuesday journey and visit the blogs of these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing for Teacup Tuesday today..

Rosey Things From The Dollar Store...

Oh my goodness....

I had so much fun at the dollar store yesterday. There is a Dollar Tree store very close to where I live and as I hadn't been there for quite some time, I decided to stop in for a quick visit on my way to the grocery store to see if they had anything interesting in stock. Boy-oh-boy did they ever. Talk about a girly girl and rose lovers paradise. Look at all of these pretty rose covered office items I found.

Beautiful and sturdy file folders ($1 for a pack of 3)....

Notecards ($1 for a pack of 8)...

Note pads...

Smaller size "matchbook" note pads ($1 for pack of 2) that will be great for keeping in my purse to jot down quick notes when I need to....

"Shopping List" and "Reminder" note pads that have a magnet on the back so that I can hang them on my refrigerator...

An 8" x 5 1/4" inch clip board....

And that wasn't all I found. I've been on the look out for a fly swatter to kill those pesky flies and other winged creatures that sometimes manage to sneak inside the house. As soon as I walked into the dollar store, I found the cutest fly swatters hanging on the wall. They came in several different colors (with me choosing a pink one of course..), and what makes them even more special is that they all had these big old flowers attached to one side if the swatter. Now I even have something pink and pretty to use to get rid of those ugly and annoying little bugs.....LOL

Lots of pretty goodies for very little money. It's amazing what great things you can find at the dollar store. Really makes me wonder why other larger retail stores can get away with charging so much money for basically the same thing. Haven't you ever wondered about that yourself?

I'll be back soon for "Teacup Tuesday", so make sure and come back for another visit then.

Sharing a Link to a Beautiful Blog....

Do you ever just stumble across a blog by accident and find yourself drooling in awe over the gorgeous photos and wishing you could have everything you see for your very own?

That recently happened to me as I was blog hopping and not even remembering which blog I started at, I clicked on a link to another blog called
Shabby Romantic and I found myself at one of the prettiest blogs. I then spent a good half hour or so going back through all the archives looking at all of the beautiful pictures.

Here’s just a sneak peak of what you'll see ....

What makes this blog a little bit different is that it's a French blog and is written entirely in French and I couldn’t even read a single word on it....LOL

Forget the fact that you won’t be able to read this blog (unless you are lucky enough to be able to read French). Take the time to check it out anyways. I know you won’t be disappointed after seeing all of the beautiful pictures. It’s definitely worth your time.

Try not to drool too much………

P.S. Call this post my way of cheating when it comes to doing a new blog post. My brain has been on system overload this week with all of the crazyness at work, so by the time I've gotten home or finished working for the day, my brain has pretty much shut down and I've had a hard time getting myself motivated enough to take some new pictures and do a "real" blog post. I'm hoping to play catch-up over the weekend and to have something new to share by the end of the weekend.

Until then, take care and enjoy your weekend..

Teacup Tuesday - Week 12

Hello my lovely friends and welcome to another "Teacup Tuesday".

My goodness, it's week 12 of this fun event and I'm still not done showing all of the teacups in my collection yet. ... LOL. I'm beginning to think that maybe I really do have way too many teacups, but I love them all so much and the thought of parting with any of them is not something I would even want to think about. It's more fun to think about adding to my collection instead of downsizing it. Wouldn't you agree????

This week, I'm am showing a gorgeous teacup that if I remember correctly, I found at either TJ Maxx or Marshall's.

I fell in love with this teacup the minute I saw it. The floral pattern on the teacup is so beautiful with the combination of pink, blue, green and yellow in the flowers and the matching border that runs along the top edge of the teacup, both on the outside and on the inside.

Now that you've stopped in here to see my teacup for today, please continue on your Teacup Tuesday tour and visit the blogs of these lovely ladies as well to see what teacups they are sharing today. I'm sure you won't be disappointed...

Summer Foot Wear....

How cute are these?????

I was shopping at my local Kohl's store earlier today and I found these adorable wedge heel flop flops that have the cutest pink patchwork design on them. They were on clearance for less than $5.00.

I'm longing for the day when I will finally be able to wear them. We are having a streak of chilly weather here in Minnesota (not even 60 degrees today...) and if I wore these now, my toes would probably freeze.... LOL

I also bought myself 2 new pairs of capri jeans. Kohl's is having an awesome sale today where many of the items in their store were buy one, get one free. Two pairs of capri jeans for the price of one.... Can't beat that for bargain shopping.

Hope you are all having a great weekend. I'll be back with a new post on Tuesday. See you then...

Wanna See My Kitchen ??

Hey there girls....

Welcome to my continuing home tour. Last week, you saw my bedroom after I got my new bed. Today, we will take a tour of my kitchen. Let’s step through the arched doorway that goes into the kitchen...

I must say that this kitchen is not very large and is by no means the perfect kitchen, but for now, it suits me just fine. Someday, when money allows, the counter tops will be replaced with something nicer and I may even decide to paint the cabinets white. I have always wanted a kitchen with white cabinets. And I dream of having new appliances. I may be old fashioned, but I'm not a big fan of stainless steel appliances. I much prefer the old style appliances in either white or almond.

A closer peak at the corner of my counter top where I have a vintage metal bread box, my recipe box and a few other accessories displayed.
A pretty floral china platter that I keep displayed behind my sink. Unfortunately, I don't have any windows in this room and I like to have something pretty to look at when I am standing at the sink doing dishes.

Now, lets take a look at the other side...

The cabinet above the microwave designated as my "Tea Pantry". This is the cabinet that I use to store all of my different teas, extra teapots, teacups, desert plates etc. Wanna see a sneak peak inside?

How about a close-up of some of my collections displayed on top of the microwave. The cute little yellow rooster is actually a set of nesting measuring cups. Don't you just love them?

Some people may think that my kitchen looks somewhat cluttered, but I love the feeling of hominess that I get when I am in this room and I see all of my lovely things displayed.

I hope that you are enjoying this little look inside ofmy home. I promise to show more in the future so stay tuned...

Teacup Tuesday - Week 11

Hello my lovely friends...

Thanks for stopping by for a visit to see what I will be sharing for this weeks "Teacup Tuesday".

In one of my previous "Teacup Tuesday" posts I showed a teacup that has a Pansy floral pattern. This week, I am showing another teacup of mine that also has Pansies on it, but the style of this teacup is very different from the previous one.

This teacup is one made by Queens Fine Bone China in England.

Oh how I wish I could visit England someday to shop the antique stores there. I can just imagine all of the beautiful teacups, teapots and other china that I would find and all the quaint little tea rooms that I could visit. That has been a long time dream of mine and I have high hopes that someday I will be able to turn that dream into reality. It would be the trip of a lifetime for me and it would be even more special if I could travel with a group of other ladies who would also enjoy a trip to England that focuses on antiques and tea.

To see even more beautiful teacups, take a short trip over the the blogs of these lovely ladies to see what they are sharing today. I know that they would love to have you stop by for a visit.
