Simple Things...

Simple things can make me very happy sometimes. Like finding something in an antique shop for just a few dollars that combines two of my favorite things.

And what might that be you ask??

Well it would be a pair of vintage crocheted potholders in my favorite soft muted shade of yellow....

I must admit that I probably have way too many of these crocheted potholders but I just love them as they have so many uses in decorating and because they are so inexpensive, I can feel guilt free when I buy one or two to add to my collection.

I actually had an idea the the other day of a way I would like to display some of my favorites from my collection and that would be to have them framed under glass in a cottage style frame and hung on the wall in my dining room. Just an idea for now and no guarantees that it will happen, but the thought is in my head so we'll see if it ever comes to fruition. If it does, you can be sure I'll share the finished project with you.

I would love to know what sorts of simple, inexpensive things like these crocheted potholder that you love to collect and can't get enough of..

I collect vintage potholders, too! They are inexpensive and cute! I don't have mine displayed yet, either, but hope to someday.

OMG! I had a similar thought only with doilies! But some of mine are so old and fragile, it's going to be interesting to see how I accomplish this! How would you keep them in place and smooth? Double sided tape? Will that ruin the fabric and threads?
I would love it if you would share your idea with me!
Thanks! HAGD! Karen

Hi Kim,
Lovely pot holders. I have thought of you a couple of times I have seen lovely potholders (especially the pink and blues). They would be very pretty framed!

Hello dear Kim! Happy Pink Saturday! I haven't posted in awhile, I have been so busy with houses projects. It never seems to end. lol I'm loving all of your prettie goodies that you have been finding. Wow, it sounds frigid out there in Minn. I'd better stop complaining about the 30's. These pot holders are adorable. I think they would look lovely in a cottage frame for your dining room or kitchen. Please share them with us if you do. I have a few also, and I might just do that. Mine are red and white though, but would go so nice in my country kitchen. what a fabulous vase you found. wow! It was worth going out in the cold for that!

Hi Kim,
Your plates are very pretty. Did you go to the sales in your neck of the woods? I saw the ads in the paper for them. Maybe we could meet at one of the sales when the weather is nicer!
