Shabby Crafting ...

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I showed these great clipboard books that I stocked up on after finding them for 50 cents each in the dollar bins at Michael's craft store ???

Well... yesterday, I took one of the chipboard pages and shabbied it up a bit using some of my hoarded scrapbook papers, modge podge, a flower embellishment and of course, some buttons and lace trims.

Even the backside was covered using some of the complimentary paper ...

I love how my latest little crafty project has turned out and now I have a cute little piece of my own personal artwork to hang for display...

I sure am glad I've taken that plunge into the crafting world as I am having so much fun creating all of these different projects I've been working on over the past several months. Tags, altered spools and now some decoupage art pieces. So, despite the still frigid cold we are dealing with here in the Minneapolis area, I am enjoying my time spent in my crafting room where the sun is shining brightly today and sending its warmth in through my window.

I was very happy yesterday when I stopped in at JoAnn's craft store and found some more of the wooden spools I was hoping to find. Yeah for me!! They come in a pack of six are are just waiting to be altered and turned into something cute.

I think I see glimpses of another fun crafting weekend ahead for next weekend...

Stay tuned to see what I do with these. Until then, enjoy your days and hopefully, I'll be back soon with some more crafty projects to share with you.

Aw, how sweet, Kim! The buttons "make" it for me!

Crafting *is* a good way to pass the time in the Winter isn't it? ♥
