Well, I mentioned in my last post that I was going to try my first attempt at creating an altered match box, and today, you get to see the final results.
Not to brag or anything, but I must say, I think I did a very good job on this considering it was the first one I've ever made and I am very pleased with how it turned out.
I started by first buying some inexpensive match boxes at Walmart. These were only $0.89 and measure approximately 2 5/8 x 4 6/8.
I made myself use the "good stuff" for this little project and I chose to use this gorgeous new rose patterned scrapbook paper from one of new Authentique paper lines.
And here is my completed match box...
I added a pretty paper rose, a button, a flat back pearl and some crocheted and lace trims in one of the corners..
And some lace trims on the sides..
I also added some small bead trim along the top edges..
And for the front of the drawer, I added a leftover bit of scrapbook paper with text and a decorate pink button...
Even the inside was finished by modge podging some more leftover scrapbook paper pieces..
What a fun little project this was. I will definately be making more of these.
As always, thanks so much for stopping by for a visit.
See you again soon!!!
