Wanna See My Kitchen ??

Hey there girls....

Welcome to my continuing home tour. Last week, you saw my bedroom after I got my new bed. Today, we will take a tour of my kitchen. Let’s step through the arched doorway that goes into the kitchen...

I must say that this kitchen is not very large and is by no means the perfect kitchen, but for now, it suits me just fine. Someday, when money allows, the counter tops will be replaced with something nicer and I may even decide to paint the cabinets white. I have always wanted a kitchen with white cabinets. And I dream of having new appliances. I may be old fashioned, but I'm not a big fan of stainless steel appliances. I much prefer the old style appliances in either white or almond.

A closer peak at the corner of my counter top where I have a vintage metal bread box, my recipe box and a few other accessories displayed.
A pretty floral china platter that I keep displayed behind my sink. Unfortunately, I don't have any windows in this room and I like to have something pretty to look at when I am standing at the sink doing dishes.

Now, lets take a look at the other side...

The cabinet above the microwave designated as my "Tea Pantry". This is the cabinet that I use to store all of my different teas, extra teapots, teacups, desert plates etc. Wanna see a sneak peak inside?

How about a close-up of some of my collections displayed on top of the microwave. The cute little yellow rooster is actually a set of nesting measuring cups. Don't you just love them?

Some people may think that my kitchen looks somewhat cluttered, but I love the feeling of hominess that I get when I am in this room and I see all of my lovely things displayed.

I hope that you are enjoying this little look inside ofmy home. I promise to show more in the future so stay tuned...

Oh Kim, I love your cozy kitchen. And your Tea Pantry is so perfect. What a great place to keep you tea things. Some people might call it clutter, but I call it filled with love. I love to look at my collections. They are part of me :-)

Your kitchen is sweet...and I think your cupboards would look great painted white. I did mine last fall and I am so pleased with them. I love your pink pyrex dishes in your tea cupboard.

What a clever idea for the pot holders, don't ya love those pink vintage ones?? I like the plate idea too and its gorgeous! Hon, you think people think your kitchen is cluttered, have they seen mine??? I like stuff and pink stuff with roses is a must! White cabinets are a dream of mine, I'll be so sad if I have to wait till next year to paint. The brand of paint I only use is almost 40 a gallon! I have used the same brand for 26 years in my home! I thought of fall painting but I want to return to school and have a November wedding of my daughters to! So... Very cute kitchen! Love,Lori

Sweet! ♥ Thanks for the tour, Kim! I don't think your kitchen is too cluttered but even if I did, I think we should decorate the way that makes us happy!

What a great idea to have the platter behind the sink for your view! I would love to have cabniets with space on top but these ones go all the way up. Our sons are talking of building us a house, so we will see. ☺

Your little rooster/cup thingy is really cute!

I see you have a pass through/peek through into the living room also! (I peeked!) ♥

I love your kitchen and it's not at all cluttered! Ours is done in white and blue. The main part of the cabinets are white, the trim around each but yet still part of the doors (or drawers) is blue.

I added a wonderful "farmers market" wallpaper border up top and all the wall hangings, etc., are florals.

I like your cabinet dedicated to tea items, although it is sorely missing some Tea Roses! hee hee.

Love all the little touches

Your kitchen is very nice. It certainly is quite live-able until you get it painted the color your want, etc. We went from a "dream" kitchen with tons of storage, lovely cabinets and miles of granite counters (we actually did the counters ourselves with those 1-foot granite squares - very do-able for a FRACTION of the price of a granite slab...), to a 120 year old adobe (renting right now) with basically two cabinets. God sure has taught me something about humility this last year! At any rate - I really like cream colored appliances (not stainless steal, either), and I am an appliance freak! I LOVE wonderful (or at this point, at least WORKING!) appliances. I sure hope you can come across some nice appliances on sale or in the paper, maybe; I totally understand the desire to upgrade the kitchen experience. Yours sure looks nice right now while you are waiting, though!

Have a nice week!

Kim, I love the coziness of your kitchen and all the accessories you've showcased. Loving the vintage items, especially the breadbox. I think it would look marvelous with white painted cabinetry. I say "go for it".

I agree with you on the stainless appliances. I'm not a huge fan, thou it seems to be all the rage. Give me a 1950's teal fridge and I would be one happy camper.
