I love my ice cream .... It's gotta be Kemp's Gone Fishin which is chocolate ice cream laced with gooey caramel and chunks of chocolate shaped like little fish. Yummy!!
However, being the good girl I am and trying to maintain my weight, I limit the amount of ice cream I eat to a fairly small portion. And I have a great way of doing that while getting to enjoy my pretty china at the same time.
As I'm browsing the antique and thrift stores, I always keep my eye out for pretty china berry dishes that are just the perfect size for using to serve a small portion of ice cream. I have several of them, but these are my favorites.
I love the pretty yellow roses on this one..
One in a lovely shade of green with a beatiful floral pattern...
And just a peak at another one. I wish I could show more, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get a clear picture of the floral pattern on this one when I tried getting the whole dish in the picture. It was only when I took a close up shot that the floral pattern came through nice and clear...
Gotta love the fact that I can combine two of my favorite things (chocolate ice cream and pretty dishes) while still being a good girl.
Take care my friends and come visit again soon!!

Oh boy that ice cream sounds yummy! And I am sure it tastes extra yummy in those pretty berry bowls! Kindof like a cup of tea in a pretty tea cup compared to a mug- taste just doesn't compare!

Pretty sweet dishes. I don't often find berry dishes. These are beautiful.
I just posted about pretty dishes and ice cream too! Except the bowls I bought are bigger than that -- but I won't fill them to the brim!

I love them! I had to give up dairy and have only recently found delicious substitutes! I have the berry bowls in that china pattern I'm collecting, the one that's all pink roses. They are cute as can be.
Getting back in the swing of things around here finally!
It's Mayfield's Ice cream for me, but any kind would taste good in those beautiful little dishes.
Great idea! Treat yourself to pretty dish and some yummy ice cream!

Hi Kim!
Very nice dishes! I used to think one needed an entire 8-piece setting before it was "o.k." to use your china; but not any more. There are such nice single pieces out there that cry out for ice-cream or candy or cereal! You may as well enjoy the finer things in life everyday than be stodgy and not use your pretties!
Come over for a visit and look at some blocks I just finished; they turned out cute!
Have a good weekend!

What beautiful china! I collect dishes with yellow roses so I really like the first one! I love pink roses too!

Big Hugs,

Those little bowls are very sweet!
Ya know, I also have a hard time getting clear pics of my tiny florals. I wonder why... I've learned a lot about my camera since blogging but I've yet to figure that one out! ♥
