A Total Blog Slacker......

Yep, that's me. While I've been visiting everyone's beautiful blogs over the past week, I'll admit I haven't been the greatest about leaving comments, or about adding a new post to my blog, so I figured it was about time I at least updated my blog with something new so you won't think I fell off the face of the earth.

What have I been doing over the past week? Nothing too exciting that's for sure. I've been battling with a case of laryngitis and a cold that's just seems to be hanging on so haven't felt up quite up to par and have just been taking it real easy trying to get as much rest as I can in between work and taking care of the mundane tasks at home that need to be done each day.

One thing I have been doing just because it makes me happy is playing with my collection of buttons. These buttons are not vintage but are inexpensive ones that I've purchased mostly at Archiver's Scrapbook store and in my local craft stores. There is just something about the yummy pastel colors that are so soothing and so pretty to look at.

Fun ways to display and admire them are in small candy dishes like this white hobnail dish...

Or in inexpensive glass storage jars that can be found at your local stores like Target and Walmart (I have a few ideas for this one to pretty up the lid of the jar but haven't gotten quite that far yet)...

Or maybe in some pretty storage jars that can be purchased online like I did with a set of these ...

Do you enjoy playing with buttons too?

I remember when i was just around three years old, or mabey i just seen pnotos and think i remeber it, but my mommy made all three of us girls a colorful dress, it had all the prettiest pastel colors in it.. That just brought back those memories when i looked at your bowl of buttons. Thanks for the memories..

I do love buttons. These are great ways to display them. I remember when the local hs band used to sell buttons by the bag full! My grandmother always bought a bag. I still have some of them. There's a store not far from here that sells them by the cup full out of a big barrel!

Hello Kim,

Sorry you are feeling under the weather. Feel better soon. Love your buttons, and how you have them displayed. It sure looks like spring at your house. I think I will get some too, and put them out for Easter. Eye candy with no calories!
