Loving My Roses......

Hey Girls...

How are things going in your world? Are you glad it's almost the weekend?

I sure am. Things are going pretty good here, although some days I find myself very frustrated and overwhelmed with all that needs to be done at work. There are never enough hours in the work day to get everything done and many days I come home from work feeling like I accomplished nothing that day. Today was definitely one of those days.... LOL.

One thing that always brightens my day and brings a little peace into my world is taking a few minutes to wander around my house just to feast my eyes on some of the pretty things I have displayed. There is nothing like some pretty roses to make me feel better.

Pretty roses like those on this sweet little china desert plate....

This is a small desert plate that I've had in my collection for some time. Sadly, I don't find many pieces like this anymore. I love the light and darker pink roses. They even have just a hint of yellow too.

Or maybe some blue roses like those on this Simply Shabby Chic fabric covered storage crate that I found at Target several years ago......

I found this one back in the day when Rachel Ashwell's Simply Shabby Chic line at Target used to feature more home decor items and not just the bedding and bath items like it does now. Boy, do I miss those days. I was always so excited to see a new selection of her home decor items when they made their way into the Target stores. I wonder if now that her Shabby Chic stores have closed if she will start to expand her line of products at Target. I'm hoping so and keeping my fingers crossed.

I can't wait until her new book comes out this fall. I'll be at the bookstore buying one as soon as they hit the shelves.

Anyways, that's all for now. Time to go fix some dinner so I can quiet my rumbling stomach.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your week and have a FABULOUS weekend!!

Hey...It's Rachel from chippycottagecharmhouse. I use to live in Mankato, MN which is about an hour from the cities. I miss living there. South Dakota is ok, but I miss all the fun antique places that Minnesota has to offer. Hope you are well!

Hiya Kim !
I know what you mean about not enough hours in the day and feeling like you accomplish nothing. I do what you do but, i take a little wander and look at my pretties, sit on the sofa in the sun and think Gee the day isnt that bad afterall.

Hugs,

Ahhhh... pretty plate.

I never get into Target but I know that's where my SSC bookcase came from originally! I love to fill my vision with lovely things too- and the cute! Gotta have my cute fix! ♥

I have always loved Rachel Ashwell's Shabby chic line at Target. I have gotten a lot of it on clearance there too. I don't get there near as often as I used to though. A couple or three years ago my daughter and I went and walked out of there with a cartful(I think maybe two cartfulls...EEK) of her curtains and all that were on clearance for $3-$4! I resold most of it but I haven't seen a bargain like that in quite some time now.
Blessings~

Kim, your plates, tableclothes, teapots and teacups are luscious! You've inspired me to paint a basket I have laying around - pink of course! Your plate with the pink roses must a true treasure of yours - it's wonderful. I can see why you enjoy traveling through your home to take it all in! I share your love of shopping for bargains and antiques,Shabby and chic, pink, and all things romatic!

I'm sorry your work is so frustrating! Your things are so pretty though. It is important to surround yourself with things and people you love to make the "Other" stuff bearable!
