Are you all having a good week so far. I can say that I am. It's vacation time for me and I'm just hanging out at home for the most part relaxing, and of course, planning visits to several thrift and antique shops throughout the week. To me, that is the perfect way to spend my vacation when I don't have the money for traveling.
One thing that always helps me to relax and unwind from the stress of work is to sit in a quiet spot enjoying a nice cup of hot tea and what better way to do that than with this weeks lovely teacup. I call this one my "cottage cute" teacup because to me, it represents everything about the cottage style I love so much, from the vintage feel of it, to the soft pastel colors that are so prevalant in cottage style decorating. I can just imagine how beautiful it would look if a person had a whole china hutch filled with different pieces in this pattern.
While I may refer to it as my "cottage cute" teacup, the official name of this pattern is "Virginia Rose" made by Homer Laughlin. I have a few other pieces with this same pattern that you've probably spotted on my blog in the past. For a long time, my blog header featured a photo that showed two matching plates. You can sneak a peak at one of the plates in my sidebar photos. I also have a soup bowl and a small platter in this pattern.
That's all for this weeks Teacup Tuesday. Only 3 more weeks of teacups to go, then it's time to make a slight shift to teapots. All of you who would like to share something for what will then become known as "Teapot Tuesday" are more than welcome to join me. I'm not going to limit it to teapots either. ANYTHING related to tea will be pefectly welcome.
Now that you've taken a minute or two here at my blog to see what I was sharing this week, please stop and pay a visit to these lovely ladies as well who also have something tea related to share. I'm sure you won't be disappointed..

Oh, it's nice to meet you Kim!
Hi Kim! Oh, yes, we are two of a kind, with all our teacups and teapots - isn't it divine?! I love what you say about finding a spot and sitting with a cup of delicious tea - nothing can beat the blues and stress like tea! Your Homer Laughlin teacup is precious, and yes, it does look absolutely "cottage", with those sweet pastels! I love H.L. china,as it's always so soft and the best part is it was made in America! I had a set and gave it to my sister. Still plotting on how to get it back! Have a great time at the thrift stores - can't wait to see what you find!
