I Can't Stop At Just One.....

Hi Girls...

I promised in my last post to share my latest project that I made using one of the new patterned scrapbook papers I had recently purchased.  If you recall from the post before that, I had shared with you a project I had done, making what some would call a "junk journal" of sorts.

It was just a small little book/journal I put together using chipboard for the front and back covers, scrapbook papers and other ephemera and embellishments.

Well, I couldn't stop with just that one, so I have made another one too.

And on this one, I added a Maya Road pre-cut chipboard  dress form to the cover of the journal.  I colored the dress form by spraying it with some Walnut Ink.

Here you can see the before and after of the dress form..

Just a few of the inside pages...

And I've had so much fun making these that I'll probably end up making several more.  Some to keep for myself and some to give away as Christmas gifts.

Well, that's all for today.  I'll be back again soon to share some of the crafting goodies I've been buying to keep myself busy over the long and cold winter months.

See you soon!!!

Gorgeous New Papers...

Hi Girls,

Well, I can't seem to stop my addiction to beautiful scrapbook papers and today, you'll see why.

When the beautiful papers also feed into your addiction to anything rosy, would you be able to say no to and pass up on buying these beautiful papers ?

These beautiful rosy patterned papers are from the new"Authentique" line of scrapbook papers called "Lovely".

I just about squealed in glee when I spotted these pretty papers amongst all of the Christmas papers in the store where I purchased them.

Here's a few close up shots to show the floral pattern in better detail...

This line also features some scripted style paper..

Another line of paper that I love is the My Minds Eye line and they also have some beautiful new papers that I found too.

I was already brave enough to cut into the first piece of the My Minds Eye paper and I'll show you what I've done with that in my next post.

Stay tuned...

Random Stuff And I Need Your Help.....

Hi Girls,

Just popping in with a quick post to show you the finished cover of my first "Junk Journal" that I shared in one of my previous posts.

In my previous post, the cover still looked like this...

But over the weekend I fancied it up a bit and now it looks like this....

And Deb , this next photo is just for you.  Here's proof that I've started to use some of the ephemera you gifted me with during our recent Minnesota bloggers gathering.  I added one of the vintage postcards in my journal as it fit the color theme just perfectly.... :)

Thanks again Deb for all the ephemera goodies...

And now for all of my blog visitors, I need your help with something that's been driving me nuts for awhile now.

For all you scrapbookers and scrapbook paper lovers like me, can anyone tell me what the name of this paper pattern is and who the manufacturer is???

Front side...

Back side....

I cut off the bar code when I first bought it so it would fit in my plastic scrapbook paper storage containers so now I can't identify the paper company this came from.

I love the paper and had only purchased two pieces of it and I haven't been able to find it again in any of my local scrapbook paper stores and I can't search online for it without knowing who makes it.

If any of you know, please leave me a comment.

Thanks so much!!!

See you soon..

Saturday Crafting....

Hi Girls...

I have seriously been lacking in creativity these past few weeks, but I did get a quick burst of creativity today so I dug into some of my goodies and altered a vintage photo mat frame.

You could say that I shabbied it up a bit to make it a bit more girly.

Hopefully I didn't go too overboard on the embellishments, but I like how it turned out...

I've been trying really hard to use the good stuff in my projects instead of hoarding it like I sometimes tend to do. It sure is hard sometimes though.

And those tattered bits of floral paper I used... well that is actually wallpaper.  I found two huge rolls of it at the thrift store a few years ago for super cheap, like $3.00 a roll or something and I love it.  It has that vintage/shabby chic look that I love and its perfect for incorporating into my craft projects.

Well, I hope you are all having wonderful weekend so far.

See you again soon!!

Girly Stuff.......

Hi Girls,

I'm not one who usually does a fashion related post, but I just have to show you some of the new fashion accessories I just purchased at a new store my sister told me about this morning that she thought I would like.  She knows how much I love handbags and jewelry and boy was she ever right.

The store is called Charming Charlie's and it recently opened in a retail shopping area not far from where I live.  The store is loaded with handbags, jewelry, fashion scarves, some clothing, shoes, fashion boots and a whole lot of other fashion accessories.  And the cool thing is, all of the handbags and jewelry and most of the accessories are separated by color themes. And the prices are ridiculously reasonable.  All of the handbags are $40.00 or less.

These are the items that came home with me today.

A new purse in a fun color.......

A new clutch wallet.......

A sparkly new eyeglass case.......

And a cute beaded heart key chain.....

I've had to work a lot of mandatory overtime for the past few months which has not been fun, but I do like the extra money in the bank account, so I was easily able to justify my splurge at Charming Charlie's as a way to treat myself for all those extra hours I've had to work.

And now I know where I will be doing a lot of my upcoming Christmas shopping!!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend.  See you again soon.

Goodwill Finds.......

Hey Girls...

It's been awhile since I've had any new treasures to show you, but today I do.

I was a bit bored last Sunday, so I decided to go to my local Goodwill store to see if there might be anything interesting to buy.  Well, I lucked out on this trip as I found this beautiful antique gravy boat.

Definately a lot less than what it would have been priced in the antique mall..

The floral pattern is one of my favorites and matches a few of the desert size plates I have.

I also bought a simple not so antique receipe box for $1.00 that I plan on altering to turn it into something pretty that I can use in my craft room.

Stay tuned for more on that...

See you again soon!!!

Junk Journal ......

Hi Girls...

Well, I've tried something new once again.  This time, I've made my very first Junk Journal.

So far, I've gotten just the basics put together and I will eventually add more "Junk" to it to bulk it up and make it look even better and I'll finish decorating the cover when it's completed.  I used two pieces of chipboard for the front and back covers, which I covered in scrapbook paper also. The Journal measures 6 x 9 which is a perfect size and allows me to make two pages from a 12 x 12 piece of scrapbook paper.

I stuck with my usual theme of using papers that have sort of a vintage look to them and I used distress ink on all the edges to make them look a bit older than they really are.

So here's what I have so far...

I know that's a lot of pictures, but I hope you enjoyed seeing the bones of my Junk Journal and that maybe I've even given you an idea or two to create something similar.

Back to the craft room I go.  See you again soon!!

A New Creation....

Hi Girls...

Well, after I made the tag I showed in my last post, I returned to my craft room and made another shabby vintage looking wall hanging.

I may be a bit partial to my own craftiness, but I think this one turned out very pretty and I'm going to find a spot in my craft room to display it.

I chose a pretty blueish/green colored paper for the back group, but this time, I stepped out of my pink zone for a change and decided to use a bit of lavender when choosing the color for the accent paper and embellishments.  It may be a bit hard to tell from the picture as it was getting dark out and the lighting in my craft room wasn't the best, but the lavender color compliments the color of the dress one of the ladies in the image I used is wearing.

Now, I just hope my mojo sticks around so I can create some more new things to share with you.

See you again soon!!

Trying To Get My Crafting Groove Back...

Hi Girls..

It seems like for the past few weeks, I've been in a bit of a slump when it comes to my crafting, but I forced myself to go into my craft room today to create something new in hopes of getting my creative juices flowing again.

It was worth the effort as I was able to make this pretty new tag using some of my newer scrapbook paper and some beautiful velvet crochet trim that I found at a scrapbook store recently.

Isn't this trim beautiful ???

It's the prettiest shade of blue and very vintage looking.  I only purchased two yards of it, and now I'm wishing I had bought more.  Hopefully the store where I bought it will still have some left next time I visit.

And a few other simple additions finished off the tag...

Not a bad way to spend a quite Sunday at home.

I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday at home too.

Until next time.....
